Needle Aponeurotomy (NA) is an in-office procedure for patients with Dupuytren’s Contracture. Needle aponeurotomy for Dupuytrens contracture is a non-surgical option which has a quicker recovery than traditional Dupuytrens surgery. There are less major complications and risks with NA compared to surgery. However, the results from NA do not typically last as long as surgery, and the condition can recur in the future. The NA procedure can be repeated in the future if the Dupuytrens contracture recurs. Not all patients are good candidates for NA. Collagenase injections are also non-surgical treatment for Dupuytrens and are available at Raleigh Hand to Shoulder Center. Dr. Erickson is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
